Tea Parties

During the pre research phase I went on a number of site visits to the museum. I invited the community to bring in cultural artefacts from their homes. The aim was to get an sense of what interaction the community has with the space, meet the people and create a comfortable space for story telling. These artefacts included records, photos and paintings. During the visits I recorded stories from those that popped in for a cup of tea. They included memories of school, dance halls, family and an awkward moment during a wake where the book holding the corpses mouth closed fell away during the proceedings!
