I was invited to come on board Community Productions’ team as their Art Director for Festival Tv; a community Tv show showcasing the best of Dubin’s local arts and cultural activities!

“Over three separate neighbourhood festivals in Drimnagh, The Liberties and Ballyfermot, Community Productions will showcase the best of Dublin’s local arts and cultural environment in this 10 part series. Based on a proven model, Community Productions will recruit a team of local volunteers in the months in advance of each festival who will plan a season of programmes to be filmed in a pop-up studio as part of the festival events. Covering the performers and events, each of these series will be firmly rooted in the local neighbourhood through the partnership not only with the festival and the use of a local neighbourhood studio but also partnerships with a local community group who will host the volunteer crew.

The shows will be based on a studio format with a presenter chatting to relevant interviewees and performers as well as introducing prepared short videos on community topics. The volunteer media makers will be encouraged to put their mark on this format – keeping the shows fresh and reflective of the creativity of the Dubliners involved in making them. Most importantly for the local communities that feature, they will recognise the vitality and excitement of Dublin’s local summer festivals on the screen.”
